Pacifici & Brooks’ latest CD release, Brigands, blends traditional Irish & English music, blues, and original music
May 1, 2021 — On their third CD, Brigands, Pacifici & Brooks give a nod to the roving and robbing themes in traditional Irish and English music, with songs such as The Newry Highwayman, The Baron of Brackley, Sovay, and The Beauty of Kashmir sung by Brian Brooks.
The CD also features two original jigs written by Caesar Pacifici: the opening track, The Brigands, and The Empty Chair.
The CD includes guest performances from Kevin Burke, Tony Fitzgibbon and Sam Bartlett.
The Pacifici & Brooks duo consists of US-based Caesar Pacifici and England-based Brian Brooks, who were original members of The Flying Cloud. The New York-based band performed music from Ireland, England and Scotland in the late 70s, recorded with Adelphi Records, and toured extensively across the USA.
Caesar plays acoustic and electric guitar, and bodhran. Brian sings and plays guitar, bouzouki, keyboards, bass and whistle.
